This article explains what to check if the Toyota HiTop has no 240V power or if the circuit breaker switch keeps tripping.
The vehicle must be connected to an external powered-site outlet for the internal 240V power points and appliances to operate.
Section 1: No 240V Power
Check that the 15AMP 240V power lead is securely connected to the vehicle.
Check that the other end is connected to the campground power outlet.
Make sure the campground power switch or circuit breaker is switched on.
Lift the rear seat base to access the internal storage and electrical area.
Check that the internal 240V circuit breakers are switched on. ( These can also be located above the 12V panel )
Testing the External Power Supply
If there is still no power:
Disconnect the Power lead from the vehicle.
Connect a suitable appliance, such as the supplied kettle, directly to the power lead.
Switch the kettle on.
If the kettle does not operate, the issue may be with the campground outlet or power lead. Try another powered outlet or contact campground staff.
If the kettle operates, reconnect the power lead to the vehicle and continue with the internal checks.
Section 2: Power Keeps Tripping
Disconnect the external 240V power.
Switch off or unplug all internal 240V appliances.
Check the power point under the lower bed, Inside the cupboard next to the fridge and the bench top around the kitchen area.
Unplug appliances including the kettle, toaster, battery charger and anything connected to the internal outlets.
Reconnect the external power lead.
Reset the internal power safety switch or circuit breaker.
Turn appliances back on one at a time.
If the power trips after a particular appliance is connected, leave that appliance unplugged. This will help identify the cause of the tripping.
Important Safety Information
Do not open electrical equipment, touch exposed wiring or attempt electrical repairs. Stop using the 240V system if there is visible damage, sparking, smoke, water near the electrical system or a burning smell.
