LDV Rover - 240V Troubleshooting + Power Tripping Diagnosis

This article explains what to check if the LDV Rover has no 240V power or if the 240V circuit breakers keep tripping.

240V power is available when the vehicle is connected to an external 15AMP powered-site outlet using the orange 240V lead.

Important safety information

Only check plugs, switches, and circuit breakers. Do not open electrical panels or attempt electrical repairs.

If there is sparking, smoke, a burning smell, water near the power points, or visible damage to the power lead, stop using 240V power and contact Cruisin’ or campground staff.

Section 1: No 240V power

  1. Connect the orange 240V lead to the external power inlet on the side of the vehicle.

  2. Connect the other end of the lead to the powered-site power pole.

  3. Check that the power pole switch or breaker is switched on.

  4. Inside the vehicle, check the 240V switch panel.

  5. Make sure Main Switch Power (Circuit Breaker) is on.

  6. Make sure Main Switch Air Con (Circuit Breaker) is on if you want to use the air conditioner.

  7. Check the round voltage display. When connected correctly, it should jump up above 12V.

  8. Check the microwave display. If the microwave clock is lit, 240V power is reaching the vehicle.

If there is still no power

Use the kettle as a simple test appliance:

  1. Disconnect the 240V lead from the vehicle.

  2. Connect the kettle to the 240V lead as shown in the video.

  3. Make sure the lead is still connected to the powered-site outlet.

  4. Switch the kettle on.

  5. Check whether the kettle light comes on or the kettle begins heating.

  6. If this is not working connect the kettle to the campsite power pole itself without the power cord.

If the kettle does not work, the issue may be with the power pole or site supply. Try another powered outlet if available or contact campground staff.

If the kettle works but the vehicle still has no 240V power, reconnect the lead to the vehicle, reset the internal 240V switches, and follow the next steps if power does not return.

Section 2: If the circuit breaker keeps tripping

If the 240V breaker trips repeatedly, unplug the external 240V power before checking appliances.

Then:

  1. Turn off or unplug all 240V appliances inside the vehicle.

  2. Check appliances such as the microwave, kettle, toaster, and any items plugged into internal power points.

  3. Lift the seat and access panel shown in the video and check the 240V power point for the hot water system area , unplug the appliance .

  4. Switch off the other appliance connected there.

  5. Reconnect the external 240V power.

  6. Reset the 240V circuit breaker.

  7. Turn appliances back on one at a time.

If the breaker trips when a specific appliance is turned back on, leave that appliance switched off or unplugged and contact Cruisin’ for assistance.
