This article explains how to reset the LDV Rover power steering system if the dashboard displays: Steering system fault
Important safety information
Only complete this reset while the vehicle is parked safely, in Park, and the handbrake is applied.
Do not drive the vehicle if the steering feels extremely heavy, unsafe, or difficult to control. Contact Cruisin’ On Road Care for assistance.
How to reset the power steering warning
Park the vehicle safely.
Apply the handbrake.
Start the engine.
Keep the vehicle stationary and in Park.
Turn the steering wheel fully in one direction.
Turn the steering wheel fully in the opposite direction.
Return the steering wheel back to the centre position.
Check the dashboard to see if the Steering system fault warning has cleared.
Helpful tip
After the warning clears, either idle or drive the vehicle for around 30 minutes to help ensure the battery voltage has returned to normal.
If the warning remains on
If the Steering system fault warning does not clear after completing the reset, or the steering still feels unsafe, stop using the vehicle and contact Cruisin’ On Road Care for further assistance. 1300 016 532
