LDV Rover - What to Do in The Event of a Breakdown

Important safety information

If the vehicle breaks down, move it to the safest available location before exiting. Keep clear of traffic, use the hazard lights, and do not stand behind or directly beside the vehicle if it is unsafe to do so.

If there is an immediate danger, injury, accident, fire, or another emergency, contact emergency services first.

What to do if the vehicle breaks down

  1. Pull over to a safe location as soon as possible.

  2. Place the vehicle in park and apply the handbrake.

  3. Switch on the hazard lights.

  4. Put on the high-visibility safety vest before standing outside the vehicle for an extended period.

  5. Remove the warning triangle from its case.

  6. Assemble the warning triangle.

  7. Place the warning triangle behind the vehicle so approaching traffic can see it.

  8. Contact Cruisin’ for further assistance.

How to switch on the hazard lights

The hazard light button is located on the centre dashboard, below the main screen. It has a red triangle symbol.

To activate the hazard lights:

  1. Press the hazard light button once.

  2. Check the dashboard display to confirm both indicator arrows are flashing.

  3. Leave the hazard lights on while the vehicle is stopped in a breakdown situation.

Where the safety vest and warning triangle are stored

The high-visibility vest and warning triangle are stored inside the vehicle behind the front seat area. They are secured on a vertical interior panel near the seatbelt and timber cabinet.

The safety kit includes:

  1. High-visibility yellow safety vest

  2. Orange warning triangle in a storage case

To remove the kit:

  1. Locate the safety vest and warning triangle on the interior side panel.

  2. Release the retaining strap.

  3. Remove the vest and warning triangle from the storage area.

  4. Put the safety vest on before setting up the warning triangle.

How to assemble the warning triangle

  1. Remove the orange warning triangle from its plastic case.

  2. Unfold the triangle sections.

  3. Lock the top of the triangle into position so it forms a full triangle.

  4. Fold out the black support legs at the base.

  5. Make sure the triangle stands upright and is stable before placing it on the road.

Where to place the warning triangle

Place the warning triangle behind the LDV Rover, in the direction of approaching traffic. It should be positioned far enough back so other drivers have time to see it and slow down.

Make sure you:

  1. Stay aware of passing traffic.

  2. Walk along the safest available path.

  3. Place the triangle on a flat, visible section of the road or roadside.

  4. Keep yourself clear of traffic when returning to the vehicle.
