If your fridge or electric sidestep isn't working, the issue may be due to a faulty relay in your motorhome's rear fuse panel. This quick inspection can help identify the issue and assist us in guiding you further.
Follow the steps below, using the instructional video as a reference.
Instructional Video: Relay Inspection
A PDF guide of this video will also be available for download.
Step 1: Access the Relay/Fuse Box
- Open the rear compartment where the fuse and relay panel is located (as shown in the video).
- Remove the black plastic cover to expose the relays and fuses.
Step 2: Identify the Relays
Once the cover is off, you’ll see three vertically aligned relays:
- Top Relay – Ignition
- Middle Relay – Electric Step
- Bottom Relay – Fridge
These relays are standard and interchangeable, which allows for testing by swapping.
Step 3: Inspect the Relays for Damage
Carefully remove each relay and inspect it for the following signs:
- Burnt smell
- Black or discoloured marks on the casing or metal pins
- Bent or broken pins – each relay should have 5 pins intact
? If any relay shows visible damage, note which one (top, middle, or bottom) and take a photo if possible.
Step 4: Swap and Test
If none of the relays appear damaged:
- Try swapping the non-working relay (e.g., fridge or step) with one of the others.
- Reinsert the relays and test the affected feature again.
- If swapping fixes the problem, it's likely the original relay is faulty.
- If nothing changes, please still report your findings.
Step 5: Let Us Know the Outcome
Once you’ve completed the inspection:
- Share your results by calling or emailing us.
- Include any photos of damaged relays or details about what happened after the swap.
