What to Do If Water Is Leaking from the Grey Water Line Area

If you notice water leaking onto the ground from the grey water line area, it is likely due to a grey water tank blockage. This typically indicates that water is being forced out through the overflow section because it cannot drain properly.

Possible Causes

Several issues could be responsible for this blockage:

  • Solid Waste Buildup: Food particles or grease from dishwashing may have clogged the outlet.
  • Airlock in Outlet Valve/Line: Trapped air can prevent water from draining.
  • Uneven Parking Surface: If the motorhome is not parked on a flat surface, gravity may not assist the drainage effectively.

Step-by-Step Solutions

  1. Reposition the Motorhome
Try parking your camper on a flatter surface or adjusting its position. A level van allows water to flow more easily through the drainage system.
  2. Clear the Outlet Line
Check for any visible blockages and remove debris from the grey water outlet valve if accessible.
  3. Follow the Video Tutorial
For a detailed walkthrough, please refer to the tutorial video.
  4. Prevent Future Contamination
After using the grey water outlet, cut the end of the water hose you inserted into the outlet valve. This helps avoid contamination from residual grey water.
  5. Still Blocked?
If the blockage persists, reposition your camper again to help reset the water flow and try emptying the tank once more.
