1. Understanding Your Fridge Power Modes

Your Dometic fridge can run on three main power sources:

  1. LPG (Gas)

  2. 12V (DC)For use only while driving

  3. 240V (AC)For use when plugged into mains power at a campsite

An Automatic (AES) mode and a Manual (MES) mode allow the fridge to switch or stay on a selected mode.

2. Powering On the Fridge

  1. Open the overhead cupboard and locate the fridge control panel.

  2. Ensure:

  3. The white master switch is ON.

  4. The fridge switch is pressed down to the ON position.

  5. Press the power button on the left side of the display to turn the fridge on.

3. Switching Between Automatic (AES) & Manual (MES)

  1. Press and hold both the “Mode” and “Set” buttons together.

  2. The indicator light will move to show which setting is selected.

  3. AES (Auto) = fridge automatically selects the best available power source.

  4. MES (Manual) = you manually pick the power source.

4. Adjusting the Cooling Level

Press the Set button to adjust cooling.

Move the indicator to the largest dot for maximum cooling performance.

5. Using Each Power Mode

A. 240V (AC) Mode – Campsites

  1. Plug your vehicle into the campsite’s 240V power outlet using the supplied cable.

  2. The AC light will illuminate, confirming the fridge is running on mains power.

B. 12V (DC) Mode – Driving

  1. The fridge switches to 12V automatically when the ignition is started.

  2. The DC light will appear.

  3. Important:

  4. 12V does not cool the fridge — it only maintains temperature.

  5. Do NOT open the fridge door while driving, or it will warm up.

C. Gas (LPG) Mode – Off-grid

  1. Ensure your gas bottle valve is fully open.

  2. The gas icon will illuminate once the fridge successfully ignites and runs on LPG.

6. Warning Light Indicator

If a warning symbol appears, the fridge may:

  1. Not be connected to a valid power source, or

  2. Have an internal error.

Check:

  1. Power source selected

  2. Gas bottle open

  3. Vehicle level

  4. Control panel switches

7. Cooling Time

Your fridge may take up to 8 hours to fully cool on its initial cooling cycle.

8. Common Issues & How to Fix Them

Unlevel Fridge

  1. The fridge must be on a perfectly level surface.

  2. If the vehicle is uneven, cooling performance will be affected.

Overloaded Fridge

  1. Do not overload shelves.

  2. Too many items restrict airflow, reducing cooling efficiency.
