This guide explains the basic safety steps to follow if your Mercedes motorhome breaks down or needs to be stopped at the roadside.

What to do

  1. Move the vehicle to a safe location where possible.

  2. Apply the handbrake and switch off the engine.

  3. Turn on the hazard lights.

  4. Locate the safety equipment stored behind the front passenger seat.

  5. Put on the high-visibility safety vest before exiting the vehicle.

  6. Remove the warning triangle from its storage case.

  7. Unfold the warning triangle and extend the support legs.

  8. Make sure the triangle is standing securely.

  9. Place the warning triangle behind the motorhome, in the direction of approaching traffic.

  10. Return to a safe location away from passing vehicles and contact Cruisin’ On-Road Care.

Important safety information

Only exit the vehicle if it is safe to do so.

Stay clear of moving traffic and do not stand directly behind or beside the motorhome in an unsafe roadside location.

If there has been an accident, injury, fire, or there is an immediate danger, contact emergency services first.
