If you're experiencing issues with any 12V accessory in your motorhome—such as lights, side step, water pump, USB outlets, etc. not functioning—it's likely due to a blown fuse. Fuses are essential safety components that protect your electrical circuits however sometimes can break despite the accessory being okay. This guide will help you locate and inspect your motorhome's 12V fuses to identify and resolve the problem.
Step 1: Locate the 12V Fuse Box
Our motorhomes have fuse boxes situated in 1 of 2 locations at the rear:
- In the cupboard below the bench seating on the passenger side.
- Under the bench seating cushions on the passenger side.
Step 2: Gather Necessary Tools
Whilst there are no specific tools required, a torch (such as one on a mobile phone) may be useful for low light situations.
Step 3: Inspect the Fuses
- Visual Inspection: Remove each fuse and examine it for a broken center metal strip or discoloration, indicating a blown fuse.
