If your LDV Rover requires a jumpstart, please follow the steps below carefully.
Before proceeding:
Please ensure you watch the attached tutorial video and review the attached PDF guide for a full visual walkthrough of the process.
Step 1: Open the Bonnet
Open the driver’s side door.
Locate the bonnet release lever on the lower part of the dashboard.
Pull the lever firmly.
Move to the front of the vehicle.
Feel underneath the bonnet for the secondary latch and release it.
Lift the bonnet and use the support rod to securely hold it open.
Step 2: Locate the Positive Terminal
Identify the positive terminal, which is covered by a red plastic cover.
Remove the red plastic cover to expose the terminal.
Attach the red (positive) jumper lead to this terminal securely.
Step 3: Connect the Negative Lead
Locate a suitable exposed metal bracket within the engine bay.
Attach the black (negative) jumper lead firmly to this metal point.
Step 4: Proceed with Jumpstart
Once both leads are securely connected:
Proceed with the standard jumpstart procedure.
Ensure connections are firm before starting the assisting vehicle.
Important Safety Reminders
Always ensure the vehicle is turned off before connecting leads.
Double-check positive and negative connections.
Keep hands and loose clothing clear of moving engine parts.
