2 Berth Fiat Sandpiper – Fuel Cut-Off Switch – How to Reset It

If your Sandpiper suddenly won’t start and a fuel cut-off warning appears on the dashboard, the fuel cut-off safety system may have been triggered. This system is designed to protect the engine by stopping the fuel flow after certain types of impacts or sudden jolts.

Why the Fuel Cut-Off System Activates

The fuel cut-off switch is a built-in safety feature that halts fuel supply in scenarios such as:

  1. A sudden impact or collision

  2. Driving over a deep pothole

  3. A tyre blowout

  4. Harsh or emergency braking

When activated, the system also triggers the hazard lights and prevents the vehicle from starting until the switch is manually reset.

How to Reset the Fuel Cut-Off Switch

Follow these two simple steps:

1. Locate the Switch

In the 2 Berth Fiat Sandpiper, the fuel cut-off switch is located beneath the front passenger glove compartment.

Use the images provided in the PDF guide for easy identification:

  1. Visual arrows highlight the switch location.

  2. A red circle marks the exact spot, labeled: “This is the fuel cut-off switch.”

2. Reset the Switch

  1. Press firmly on the rubber dome located at the center-top of the switch.

  2. You should hear or feel a click when it resets.

  3. Once pressed, the vehicle should be able to start as usual.
