To assist you visually, we’ve created a short tutorial showing exactly how to rehang your blind.
What You’ll Need
- A Phillips head screwdriver
- A wooden matchstick (only the wood—not the red ignition tip)
- The fallen blind and any loose screws
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Identify the Bracket Position
Locate the small metal or plastic brackets on either side of where the blind was mounted. These brackets hold the top rail in place.
2. Check Screw Stability
Attempt to screw the bracket back into its original hole. If the screw feels loose or won’t tighten:
- Take a wooden matchstick (break off the red tip).
- Insert the wooden end into the stripped screw hole.
- Snap off the excess flush with the surface.
- Reinsert the screw into the hole. The added wood gives it something to grip.
This trick helps restore the hold of a worn or oversized screw hole—no need for complicated repairs.
3. Rehang the Blind
Once the brackets are secure:
- Align the blind’s top rail with the mounting brackets.
- Slide or snap the rail back into place as demonstrated in the video.
