Cabin Air Conditioner Not Working on Lower Fan Speeds (1–3)

If your motorhome’s cabin air conditioner is not functioning on fan speeds 1, 2, or 3—but is working on speed 4—this typically indicates a common and easily fixable issue: a loose resistor plug. We have also attached a Video tutorial and PDF guide for your convenience.

Issue Summary

  1. Symptoms: AC fan only works on speed 4; no airflow at speeds 1, 2, or 3.

  2. Cause: The resistor plug under the glove box may have come loose or is not properly seated.

Step-by-Step Solution

1. Locate the Resistor Plug

  1. Go to the passenger side footwell.

  2. Look under the glove box—this is where the resistor plug is located.

2. Re-seat the Plug

  1. Check the connection and push the plug firmly in until you hear or feel it clip into place.

3. Optional Cleaning

  1. You may remove the plug fully, give it a quick blow to remove any dust or debris, and then plug it back in securely.

4. Test the System

  1. Turn on your AC and test all fan speeds (1 to 4).

  2. If the plug is correctly seated, the AC should now function at all speed levels.
