How to Set Up the Awning on Your Motorhome

Setting up the awning on your motorhome is simple when done carefully and in the right conditions. Please only extend the awning in calm weather—never in rain or wind. Follow these steps closely to set up your awning safely and securely. We have also attached a pdf guide and video tutorial for your convenience

Step 1: Gather the Equipment

  1. Open the passenger side door.
  2. Locate the winding pole and centre support pole stored behind the passenger seat.
  3. Retrieve both poles and keep them nearby.

Step 2: Extend the Awning

  1. Insert the winding pole into the designated slot on the awning.
  2. Turn the pole anticlockwise slowly until the awning is fully extended.
  3. Be mindful of your surroundings to ensure there’s enough clearance.

Step 3: Position the Awning Arms

  1. Locate the awning arms on each side of the awning cassette.
  2. Pull the arms out gently toward you.
  3. Ensure the wingnuts are facing inward—this helps avoid accidental breakage.
  4. Insert the bottom end of each arm into the designated holders on the side of the motorhome.
  5. Push the white flat clip down to secure each arm in place.

Step 4: Adjust the Arm Height

  1. Loosen the nut on each arm.
  2. Raise or lower the arm to your desired height.
  3. Once positioned, tighten the nut to lock the height.

Step 5: Install the Centre Support Pole

  1. Take the centre support pole retrieved earlier.
  2. Attach it into the designated holder on top of the vehicle (middle of the awning).
  3. Tighten the nut to ensure stability.
  4. Repeat the same extension and tightening steps for the pole on the opposite side of the awning.

Step 6: Packing Away

  1. To close the awning, reverse all the above steps.
  2. Ensure both the awning and poles are securely stowed back behind the passenger seat.
  3. Double-check clearance for the vehicle’s side entry door to ensure it can open and close freely.
